Super interessant, besonders für Fans der "alten" Daily Show und seiner Korrespondenten. Man erfährt viel über die Geschichten hinter den Geschichten.

Als großer Fan natürlich volle Punktzahl!Interessante Background-Anekdoten und kurze Erzählungen von ehemaligen Mitarbeitern der Daily Show.Wer allerdings eine flüssig geschriebene Roman-Form erwartet, wird hier nicht fündig.

It's great book to relive those early years of daily show. It's gives a great insights into the writers, producers, correspondents, and into the making of the show. I think it's best book for people who have not been following the show but would like to take a walk down the memory lane of those early years of such a great show.

Chris Smith hat sein Buch über die TV Show, die Amerikas Medienlandschaft veränderte, so aufgebaut, dass es hauptsächlich aus Interviews bzw. Statements der involvierten Personen besteht. Das fand ich eine kluge und spannende Herangehensweise, und er muss sich so nicht den Vorwurf gefallen lassen, hier etwas einseitig darzustellen. Die Geschichte der Daily Show wird chronologisch abgearbeitet, und prägende Veränderungen und Momente werden im speziellen behandelt und rekapituliert. Zu Wort kommen neben Jon Stewart und den bekannten Correspondents auch die Produzenten, Schreiber, Interviewgäste, Politiker, TV-Kollegen und andere. Ich persönlich habe die Daily Show leider erst recht spät für mich entdeckt, doch deswegen war es auch für mich spannend zu sehen, wie vergangene Themen behandelt wurden, welch internationale Stars die Show hervorgebracht hat (Steve Carell etwa), und wieso diese Show so oft als Vorbild genannt wurde und auch in Europa kopiert wurde. Insgesamt also eine klare Medienempfehlung, nicht nur etwas für eingefleischte Fans, sondern auch etwas für Leute, die Interesse an Medien, Politik und Humor haben.
